Overview

This trek will take you through the largest Afro-alpine habitat in the entire Bale Mountain National Park, which encompasses the most extensive Afro-alpine region on the African continent. This area features a high-altitude plateau, intricately fragmented by numerous remarkable volcanic plugs and peaks. You'll encounter stunning alpine lakes and mountain streams that cascade down deep, rocky gorges on their journey to the lowlands. The park is a paradise for various endemic mammals, including the Ethiopian mountain nyala and Bale monkey, as well as a multitude of unique bird species.

Route details

Day 1
Bale Mountain

Upon arrival at Bale Mountain, you will meet your guide and drive to the park headquarters. From there, our hike will begin, taking us through the headquarters area where we have the opportunity to spot and observe endemic and endangered mammals such as the mountain nyala, Ethiopian bushbuck, common warthogs, reedbuck, gray duiker, and baboons. 

Additionally, we will encounter unique bird species native to the region, including the Abyssinian catbird, white-backed black tit, black-headed siskin, and wattled ibis, all of which inhabit the juniper woodlands surrounding Bale Mountain. 

We will spend the night at the Dinsho campsite, situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea level.

HELLO, I am Mohammed I live in Addis Ababa. I speak English and French. I was born and grew up in a small town called Dinsho, Located in the hearts of the Bale mountains. I studied tour guiding aervices at the one of the tourism training institutes in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. My country led me into this profession which I love. I have been working as a tour guide and organizer for more than 13 years all around Ethiopia. I have led and managed groups of tourists in every corner of our country Ethiopia. I am also worked with research groups, and professional photographers, my great experience has helped me gain various related skills, and now a day I can handle clients in a flexible, friendly, and professional way. I am well experienced in different kinds of tours such as Bird identification/Birdwatching, Cultural Attractions, Trekking, adventure and Historical tour and many others. With my love and growing passion for the Natural and Culture of my society, I realized that I am interested sharing this enthusiasm with Visitors, that is why I decided to established my own tour and travel business. I am highly interesting about meeting new people from different parts of the world and helping them witness the Cultural and Natural destination of our regions. I am also excited to learn about other nationalities cultures and activities/attractions. My passion is travel and the Fascinating Natural attractions, cultural heritage. Cancellation of booking

In case of early cancellation of the reservation, we will be forced to withhold from you a percentage of the price paid:

  • it's important to know. in case of booking cancellation the next policy applies: tourists will receive a full amount they paid for the reservation in case they cancel more than 30 days in advance of the tour start date in the event of cancellation within the period of 26 to 16 days before the tour start date - they are entitled to receive 50% of the booking amount cancelations made within 15 days before the tour starts will not be entitled to a refund. camping and one night hotels. - If the Customers interesting to canclle the tour should be before two weeks, if not you pay 35%

for such as problem like that of covid or any kinds  accident that happened, we will used flexibility depending on our clients interesting another activities can be arrange. but our customer they are responsible to inform us before the tour stating like that of before one weeks. and also we believe in discussion to solve the problem.
