Great Gobi Experience

After having breakfast with a nomad family, we will start driving to Yoliin Am, Yolyn Am (Lammergeier Valley) which is a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains of southern Mongolia. The valley is named after the Lammergeier, which is called Yol in Mongolian. The Lammergeier is an Old World vulture, hence the name is often translated to Valley of the Vultures or Valley of the Eagles. Before we enter a valley we will visit a small museum to get know more about Gobi Gurvan Saihan National Park. In this valley we will hike to see the ice gorge and beautiful nature scene. Overnight stay in a Ger hostel.

After having breakfast, we will drive to the sand dunes called Khongoriin Els.

The Khongoriin els also known as the singing dunes, these are the largest sand dunes in Mongolian, 200m high, 12km wide and about 100km long and should not be missed if traveling through the Gobi. In this place we will have a camel ride trial for 2 hours. We will overnight in a tent.

In the Mongolian Gobi Desert, at the edge of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, red sandstone cliffs known to locals as Bayanzag are located. This is the place where the Saksaul trees grow. Since 1922, however, they have also been known for something very different: dinosaurs. They were followed by a century of paleontologists and fossil enthusiasts from all over the world.

We will start our tour after an early breakfast in the Tourist camp. Baga Gazriin chuluu is located in Delgertsogt soum, Dundgovi province and surrounded by plain. The highest one is 15 km long and 10 km wide granite stone-mountain elevated at 1768m above sea level. There are also over 20 kinds of medical herbs like burnet, many kinds of world rare animals like marmot, ibex and mountain sheep. Also you can see Bolort Cave, eye treatment spa, rock images, petro glyphs, burial mounds and many other sights. There is a ruin of Choir monastery which was established by “Zaya” Damdin, a famous ancient historical, religious and scientific researcher. On the way we will stop for a lunch next to Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain. It will be great to have lunch next to the beautiful scenery and then we will continue to drive to the Gobi area campsite of our trip. Overnight stay in a Nomad ger.

Drive Back to Ulaanbaatar. On the road we'll visit the Manzushir monastery. Visit of the Big Chinggis khan statue is also included.
